Location + Light % Vision = Image

I was recently asked about how I find all of these amazing locations that are used in my photographs. I had to think about the question for a moment. To be honest, there is nothing amazing about most of them. For example, lets look at the image below.

Amazing location right? NOT!

This location is in a mall parking lot next to one of the most congested roads in Columbia, South Carolina.

I like to take locations like this that are overlooked and passed daily and turn them into unique locations for my photographs.

This photo was taken at that same location. What changed? I used the same camera to take the photo. I used lights. The most important tool I used to create this image was my unique vision for the location.
